Wild, quiet and unmistakably Bali
Tabanan is the calm, untouched cousin of busy Canggu. Soori sits on a black volcanic beach where rice paddies tumble straight into the Indian Ocean. There are no scooters buzzing, no beach club queues, just surf, palms and stars.
The closest landmark is Tanah Lot, the iconic sea temple twenty minutes south. The drive in passes through some of Bali's most beautiful working farmland. Expect zero nightlife and total quiet after dark, which is exactly the point.

Coastline, not strip
Soori is a destination, not a neighbourhood. There are no walkable shops or cafes outside the resort. Plan to either stay on-site or drive in for events.
Jatiluwih rice terraces
UNESCO-listed emerald terraces about an hour inland, best in the morning before the haze. A perfect free-morning trip before Wednesday's Welcome Drinks or Thursday's ceremony.
Resort dining mostly
Outside Soori's restaurants, options are limited and rustic. For variety, drive south to Kedungu or up to the rice fields at Jatiluwih.
Transport and traffic
- Airport to Soori: 90 to 120 minutes depending on traffic. Pre-book a driver, do not rely on Grab/Gojek for this leg.
- Canggu/Pererenan to Soori: Allow 60 to 90 minutes. Friday afternoons are the worst window.
- Late-night returns: After The Celebration, register for the shuttle. Independent drivers are scarce after midnight in Tabanan.
- Scooters: Not recommended for guests staying in Canggu and commuting out. Long, dark, fast roads.
